Meet the TLF Prep Club Teachers

This academic year, new teachers have joined the TLF Prep Clubs! They will lead the sessions, helping participants develop problem-solving skills, prepare for the TLF entrance exams, and deepen their subject knowledge. In our latest article, we introduce our new Mathematics and Physics Prep Club teachers.

Mathematics — Solomiia Miziuk

Solomiia Miziuk will lead the Mathematics Prep Club.

In 2017, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from HSE University in Moscow, followed by a Master’s degree from the University of Bonn in Germany in 2020.

Solomiia then continued her studies and research at SISSA — the International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste, Italy, where she defended her PhD in May 2026.

Her research focuses on algebraic geometry, a branch of mathematics that studies geometric spaces defined by polynomial equations.

Together with Solomiia, participants of the Math Prep Club will explore:

  • challenging and non-routine problems in algebra and geometry;

  • written and oral tasks typical of TLF entrance exams;

  • an olympiad approach to problem-solving, including strategies, proofs and clear mathematical reasoning.

The first session will take place on October 2, 2026.

Physics — Janko Popović

The Physics Prep Club will be led by Janko Popović, a student at the University of Cambridge, where he studies Mathematics and Theoretical Physics.

At school, Janko took part in numerous olympiads and competitions. His achievements include a silver medal at the International Physics Olympiad, as well as gold medals at the European, Nordic-Baltic and International Zhautykov Physics Olympiads.

After graduating from school, Janko continued working in olympiad physics. He prepares problems for national competitions in Serbia and helps members of the Serbian team prepare for the International Junior Science Olympiad.

At the TLF Physics Prep Club, participants will work on problems in mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity and optics. They will learn to analyse physical situations, identify the relevant laws and principles, and build solutions step by step through precise calculations.

The first session will take place on October 4, 2026.
